Bryan Geoffrey Lans was born on March 13, 1954, and passed away peacefully on March 19, 2017.  He grew up in Cambridge, MA and graduated from Boston College as a proud member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Sigma Chapter.  He was a dedicated broadcasting professional who ultimately settled in Lowell, MA.

Bryan is remembered as a passionate, meticulous, funny and intensely hardworking individual.  His interests were of many and of the upmost sophistication. Although entering the theatre arts had always been a dream of his, he ultimately entered show business as a floor director for WGBH-Channel 5.  He spent many years excelling in this profession and is remembered fondly by former colleagues at the station.  When he wasn't taking charge of a set for the evening news or another television program, he was dabbling in his hobby as a skilled photographer and establishing a freelance business as a videographer.

At home, Bryan was a gourmet chef who loved to cook with a variety of cultural influences and made sure that his space was equipped with all of the latest gadgets.  While he loved to spend time in his pristinely clean and designed home, he also liked to get outdoors to play Frisbee with his daughter, Nyjah, or tennis with his friends.  He also enjoyed taking Nyjah on fun outings like the arcade, bike riding and the beach during the summer. Bryan had a unique sense of humor and many are likely familiar with his numerous stories and anecdotes.  In later years, he was able to demonstrate this playful side to a greater extent with the birth of his grandchildren and had a particularly close bond with his eldest grandchild Myles.

Bryan was survived by his one child, Nyjah Alexis from his marriage to Shahara Wyche; grandchildren, Myles Alexis and Isaiah Alexis; and by his brother, Shawn Lans.  He is pre-deceased by his brother, Roy Lans; his mother, Mary Alice Lans; and his grandmother, Joyce Douglin.  Bryan’s life is also celebrated by a host of beloved, life-long friends.

Lans, Byran G.,of Cambridge, MA passed away on March 19, 2017 in Milton, Massachusetts surrounded by his loving family. Beloved son to the late Leroy L. Lans and the late Mary Alice Douglin.
