Antonia Lopes Afonso

Afonso, Antonia "Tchentcha" originally from the beautiful island of Fogo, Cabo Verde, passed on Friday, September 21, 2018 in Milton, Massachusetts surrounded by her loving family. 

Beloved daughter to the late Victor Rodrigues Tavares and the late Maria Lopes. 

Devoted wife, sister, mother, aunt, godmother and friend. She leaves her loving husband Alberto Afonso. Her children Victoria Andrade, Antonio "ToTe" Afonso, Manuel "Laton" Afonso and Lisa Afonso. Blessed grandmother to thirteen loving grandchildren.

Antonia was the dear sister to Manuel Cisto Lopes, Hilario Lopes, Maria Theresa Monteiro Santos, Antonio Monteiro, Jeromina Wahnon, Celina Gomes, Nicolao Tavares, Pedro Tavares, Venceslau Tavares, Victoria Rodrigues and Zita Scippa.

She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish her memories. 

She was predeceased by her loving son Joao Afonso and dear mother Maria Lopes. 

Visitation with family will be Tuesday, September 25th from 5-9 PM arrangements  entrusted to George Lopes Funeral Home, accommodated by Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at 10:30 AM from St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 E. Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301. Interment will follow to Calvary Cemetery, 163 N. Cary Street, Brockton, MA 02302.
