Epps, James Henry of Roslindale, MA passed peacefully on September 4, 2018.
OBITUARY
James Henry Epps, the son of the late Oliver “Buddy” Epps and Bettie M. Epps was born on June 22, 1937, in Franklin County, North Carolina. James Henry, who was steadfast in his faith that God would take care of him, answered the call of his heavenly father and entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at German Centre in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
James Henry loved life, conversation, and making others laugh as he reminisced about his life experiences. He was a free spirit that loved people and always ready to share his sense of humor through the joy of laughter. James Henry loved attention and was known as “Sweet Daddy” in the Roslindale Community. In addition, he was an avid bicycle rider and he continued to ride until his declining health no longer permitted him to do so last year. James Henry will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
On November 6, 1961, James Henry was united in holy matrimony to Mammie Florence Perry. They had no children of their own, but they loved children and they were a big part of their lives. After marriage, they moved to Boston Massachusetts where he worked as a lumberman for many years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bettie M. Epps, father, Oliver Epps, (3) sisters, Annie Lee Joyner, Mary Bettie Taylor, and Rosa Bell Terry, (4) brothers, Oliver Otis Epps, Oliver Epps Jr., Charlie Edward Epps, and Jessie Charlie Epps.

Brodie of Oxford, NC; (1) brother, William E. Epps of Franklinton, NC; (5) sister-in-laws, Hattie Strickland of Boston, Massachusetts; Betty Avery of Irvington, NJ; Elsie Cobb of Burlington, NC; Luzany Perry of Franklinton, NC; and (1) brother, Daniel Perry of Raleigh, NC;
