Luzia Brandao

Luzia Pina Brandao passed on January 19, 2020 in Quincy, Massachusetts surrounded by her loving children. Born in Fogo, Cabo Verde, on December 13, 1933. She is one of seven children born to Catarina De Pina and Ubaldo Jose Da Silva.

She leaves behind her devoted children Lucindo Brandao, Daniel Brandao, Teresa Brandao, Patricio Brandao, Mane Brandao, and Conceicao Brandao and two siblings Jose and Nuna.

NhaNha as she is known to family, and friends came to the United States in 1983 in search of a better life for her, and her family. She was employed at the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. for a period of ten years before retiring in 1993. NhaNha lived life through simple pleasures; chatting with friends, cooking, and telling her grandchildren stories of the old days.

She also leaves behind 28 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.

Luzia is proceeded in death by her husband Benjamin Brandao. She will be missed dearly by her relatives and friends.

Visitation with family will be Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 2–6 PM at the St. Patrick Church, 400 Dudley Street, Roxbury, MA 02119
