Maria Goncalves

Maria "Armanda" de Fatima da Lomba Rocha Goncalves originally from Assomada, Cape Verde passed in Boston, Massachusetts surrounded by her loving family on October 22, 2018. 

Armanda is survived by her husband Antero, of 63 years; her 9 children, Maria de Brito, and husband Sebastian Tavares, daughter Madga Goncalves and husband Moses Besong, daughter Maria Joana Barros and husband Avelino Barros, daughter Maria Madalena Rodrigues and husband Aderito Rodrigues, son Eurico Goncalves and wife Yolanda Goncalves, son Tito Goncalves and wife Miryan Vieira, daughter Alzira Henry and husband Marvin Henry, son Joao Jose Goncalves and wife Janine Rosa, daughter Edna Goncalves and husband Nicolas Saintmard;  her brother Octavio Miranda, her 3 sisters, Maria Duarte, Maria Pina, Francesca Da Lomba; her 21 grandchildren, her 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the pillar and matriarch of the family, Known as the beloved mother of the Cape Verdean Community, devoted catholic and church member of St. Peter Parish, she will be missed by so many in her community, family and church family. 

Visitation with family on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 5-8 PM at St.Peter Parish, 278 Bowdoin Street, Dorchester, MA 02122.

Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10 AM also from the church. Interment will follow to New Calvary Cemetery, Harvard Street, Mattapan, MA 02126.
