Maria Lopes originally from Fogo a beautiful city in Cabo Verde, passed at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 29, 2017, in Brockton, MA.. 

Beloved matriarch of the Lopes family, affectionately known to everyone as "VOVO" she was blessed to conquer 104 years in her earthly body. 

She was a loving and devoted mother and she leaves her children: Manuel Cisto Lopes, Hilario Lopes, Antonia Afonso, Maria Theresa Monteiro Santos, Antonio Monteiro, Jeromina Wahnon and Celina Gomes. 

Living to 104 years she was blessed to meet her sixty one grand children, she also leaves a large legacy of five generations from children to her great great great grand children.

She will be missed and her memories will be cherished by her loving family, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and those whom loved her. 

Predeceased by her loving grandson Antonio Tony Lopes. 

Visitation with family on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from Dahlborg-Macnevin Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301  

Funeral mass will be on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10 AM from St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 E. Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301. 

Interment will follow to Calvary Cemetery, 163 N. Cary Street, Brockton, MA 02302.
