On June 17th, 1955, Alice Faye Hoffman (Howard was born to the late Rosie Hinds (Howard) in Selma Alabama. She was always a happy and adventurous soul, who loved spending time with her eleven siblings. Even in times of trouble. In the early 70's Alice and her family moved to Boston Massachusetts, where she would go on to finish her high school education at Jeremiah E Burke High School. After graduating from high school because of her beauty, height and glamorous smile she would enjoy a brief career in modeling, before deciding she needed to spread her wings. She wanted to see what other opportunities the world had to offer her. After traveling across the US and having the opportunity to experience many different things, she realized how she truly missed her family and decided to come back and make Boston her home again. During her travels she found that her passion was for cooking. She spent many years working for Boston University as a cook, along with working many catering jobs. Her specialty was Vegan style food and gourmet popcorn. She was not going to let you leave her house without coming in to sample her popcorn. Her biggest dream was to move to Georgia and start her own catering service. Over time Alice would begin to establish her own family. Even though she never lost her passion for cooking she decided she needed something more. She wanted to see what the construction industry had to offer her as a black female in America. It was an industry that she would go on to do extremely well. She would work for local 223 for 20 plus years before retiring in 2017, from Gioioso Construction where she was loved and known for her infectious smile. If you never had the chance to feel the warmth and joy of her beautiful smile, when you have the time just stop in the Children's Museum where her picture is proudly displayed as a woman in construction. Alice was a woman of many talents and one who touched many lives. Above all things she was known for the love she always gave so freely. Her family meant the world to her! She would always say "when it comes down to it family and memories are all you have and what really matters in the end” She proved that over and over again, no matter what the family was having or where it was, she was there to support with a big smile and her dancing shoes on!! She was the Life of the party whether it was 2 or 202, she always made sure you had an amazing time! She Is Loved by all. Her warmth, love, big heart and beautiful smile will truly be missed more than our words could measure. You will never be forgotten! Even though our hearts are heavy, we know someone needs you more. Dance on our Angel, may you rest in peace! Alice will continue to spread her loving spirit through her four children Romel Howard, Johnathian Hoffman, Donfaye Meminger, Micheal Meminger and her beautiful 6 grandchildren Jymareon Hoffman, Nevaeh Love Howard, Ousmane Diakite, Assata Diakite, Latif Diakite and Aminah Diakite. Her six remaining siblings Mary Johnson of Selma Alabama, Willie Howard, of Atlanta Georgia Ernestine McNickles of Waterbury Connecticut, Bernestine Howard of Boston Massachusetts, Betty Howard of Georgia, Curtis Howard of Waterbury Connecticut, son-in Law, Aboubacae Diakite of Dallas Texas, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, great Nieces, Great Nephews, cousins and a host of friends who are going to truly miss her. May her smile continue to shine brightly. Alice is preceded in death by her Mother Rosie Hinds (Howard) sister Lois Howard, brothers Fredrick Howard, William Howard, Lawrence Howard and sister Joneita Carroll.
