Ana Soares Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and abiding love that we announce the passing of Ana Maria Soares, who departed this life on February 11, 2026, in Charlton, MA.

Ana was born on May 10, 1968, in Sal, to her loving parents, Manuel J. Soares and Maria A. Santiago. Raised with strong values of faith, family, and resilience, Ana carried the warmth and vibrant spirit of her island home throughout her life. Her roots in Sal shaped her generous heart, her strength of character, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Ana was a woman of quiet grace and enduring compassion. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed and cared for, whether through a shared meal, a thoughtful word, or a comforting embrace. Her love for family was the cornerstone of her life. She found her greatest joy in nurturing her children, strengthening family bonds, celebrating traditions, and keeping the rich culture of Cabo Verde alive in her home and community.

Those who knew Ana will remember her radiant smile, her steady strength during difficult times, and her deep faith that carried her through life’s challenges. She was a devoted daughter, a proud and loving mother to her four children, a cherished sister, and a loyal friend whose presence brought light and warmth to every gathering.

Ana leaves behind her four beloved children; her loving father, Manuel J. Soares; her siblings; and a host of many loving family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply and cherish her memory always. She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved mother, Maria A. Santiago.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a viewing service on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton 02301.

Following the services, Ana will be lovingly returned to her homeland for interment in Sal, Cabo Verde, where she will rest among her ancestors in the place that first shaped her beautiful spirit.

Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her love remains eternal. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
