Anthony Floyd, age 67, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 29, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1958, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Violet Caldwell and Lewis Floyd of Newberry, South Carolina.
Anthony was raised in Boston and attended English High School, where he played basketball and graduated in 1976. A hardworking man blessed with an entrepreneurial spirit, Anthony took over his father’s food truck in 1985. Through this work, he became known for his generosity and warm heart — often sharing freely with children and families, leaving lasting memories of kindness and joy.
In 1998, Anthony joined Painters Union Local No. 35, where he labored faithfully and with pride. He later stepped out in faith to establish his own business, Rembrandt Painting Company, using his God-given talents to provide for his family and serve others through his work.
Anthony found peace in music, especially Bob Marley and jazz, and enjoyed painting, reading, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. Above all, he cherished his role as a grandfather. His grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Umpa,” were a source of endless joy and blessing in his life.
Anthony was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Floyd-Dobson.
He leaves to cherish his memory former wife, Jeanie Oliver; his children, Keona Oliver and husband Keaon Chester, Anthony Oliver and wife Amelia Oliver, Dashawn “Yappa” Oliver and wife Jessica Correia Oliver, and Maggie Floyd; and a host of beloved grandchildren: Kyin Oliver, Kavaughn Oliver, Zaria Founville, Miia Oliver, DJ Oliver, Emmanuel Oliver, Kalanii Francis, JRU Oliver, and Amalia Oliver.
He is also survived by his loving sisters, Debra Floyd, Patricia Floyd-Dixon, and Angie Floyd; and his brothers, Lewis Floyd, Kenny Floyd, and Sidney Floyd.
Anthony’s life was a testament to perseverance, generosity, and love. Though he has laid down his earthly burdens, his spirit lives on through the lives he touched.
Closing Prayer
May the Lord grant Anthony eternal rest and peace, and may His loving presence bring comfort, strength, and healing to all who mourn. Amen.
