In Loving Memory of Antonio Teixeira Batista

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that the family of Antonio Teixeira Batista announces his passing on October 24, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 86.

Born on June 5, 1939, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, Antonio was the beloved son of the late Pompilio Batista and Mariana Batista.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Antonio was the cornerstone of his family and a man of great faith, strength, and humility.

He was married to his loving wife, Maria A. Batista, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. Together, they built a beautiful family whose roots and values continue to flourish through generations.

Antonio leaves behind his cherished wife, Maria, and his beloved children:
Andreza Batista, Ana Batista, Azevedo Batista, João Brito Batista, Daulinda Batista, Albertino Batista, Albertina Batista, Carlos Batista, Sandra Batista, Danny Batista, Lena Batista, Manuel Batista, Lourenço Batista, Antonia Batista, João Pedro Batista, Charlenny Batista, Antonio Batista, and Anna Beatriz Batista.

He was the proud patriarch of 86 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren, who will forever remember his warm smile, kind heart, and the wisdom he shared so freely.

Antonio also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends, all of whom were touched by his generosity, humor, and unwavering spirit.

Antonio’s life was a testament to faith, hard work, and devotion to family. His home was always open, his table always full, and his words always kind. His legacy will live on through the lives of all those he loved and inspired.

Viewing Services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. Peter’s Parish, located at 311 Bowdoin Street, Boston, MA 02122.

A Funeral Mass will follow the next day, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location.

Interment will take place at New Calvary Cemetery, 800 Harvard Street, Mattapan, MA 02126.

The Batista family extends heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Though Antonio is no longer with us in body, his spirit will continue to guide and bless us all.
