Antonio Pedro Vital da Silva, lovingly known as Pedro, passed away peacefully at his home in West Bridgewater, MA, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with head and neck cancer. He was 72 years old and surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and four children.
Pedro was born on April 18, 1953, in the small village of Penteada on the island of Fogo, Cabo Verde, to the late Armando Vital da Silva and Isaura Barbosa da Silva. He was also predeceased by his beloved siblings, Diolinda M. Centeio and Audino A. da Silva.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Armanda L. Vieira, Isildo A. da Silva, and Vital A. da Silva, all of Cabo Verde.
Pedro immigrated to the United States in September of 1978, settling in Dorchester, MA. He later purchased his first home in Brockton, where he moved with his family in 1990. He worked as a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor at Power Pharmaceuticals and later found purpose in his work in maintenance for the late Joseph J. Nessaralla of Brockton.
Pedro was a man of quiet strength, known for his generosity, warmth, and unwavering dedication to his family. He had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar, challenging himself with sudoku puzzles, and sharing stories—always eager to connect with those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Senhorinha da Silva, and their children: Peter, Isildo, Melanie,Tony and grandson Iymani. He is also the proud father of two young children, Vital and Maribelle Nunes da Silva. Pedro leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Pedro’s life was one marked by resilience, love, and quiet wisdom. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
