Antonio Da Veiga, of Brockton, Massachusetts, peacefully passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born on September 12, 1936, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, Antonio was the beloved son of the late Etelvina Da Veiga. He was the devoted husband of the late Maria Antonia Goncalves Barros Veiga, with whom he shared a life rooted in love, faith, and family.
Before immigrating to the United States, Antonio proudly served as a police officer in his homeland of Cabo Verde. After coming to America, he dedicated himself to building a better life for his family and found his greatest joy in being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His strength, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Antonio was the cherished father of Francisca Monteiro, Deoilda Monteiro, Victor Rodrigues, Bartolomeu Da Veiga, Antonio Da Veiga, Etelvina Amado, Flavio Da Veiga, Natalia Pires, Amarilio Veiga, Amarilia Veiga, and Iara Veiga. He was also the proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 27 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.
He is survived by his loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of cherished relatives and friends who will miss him dearly and forever treasure his memory.
Antonio was predeceased by his beloved mother, Etelvina Da Veiga; his devoted wife, Maria Antonia Goncalves Barros Veiga; and his two sons, Tome Da Veiga and Jose Carlos Da Veiga.
Antonio's legacy is one of dedication, resilience, and unconditional love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
