Antonio A. (1) Fernandes

Antonio A. Fernandes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Antonio was born on January 2, 1963, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, to the late Joao and Margarida Fernandes.

From an early age, he carried with him the values of family, hard work, and faith, values that shaped the man he became and the life he built.

Antonio was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Maria Fernandes, with whom he shared a life rooted in love, partnership, and resilience. He was a proud and caring father to Palmira Fernandes and Tony Fernandes, and a cherished grandfather to his grandchild, who brought him immense joy. Antonio also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, along with a large extended family and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, warmth, and generous spirit.

Those who knew Antonio will remember him for his quiet strength, his deep love for family, and the way he made others feel welcomed and valued. His presence was a source of comfort and stability, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A viewing service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at George Lopes Funeral Home, located at 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

Antonio’s Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Edith Stein Parish, located at 71 E Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

Interment will follow at Melrose Cemetery.

Antonio A. Fernandes will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he gave so freely and the legacy of family and faith he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
