Ashton Harrington Joseph

Ashton Harrington Joseph departed this life on February 7, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born in St. John, Antigua on September 5, 1942, to Henrietta Joseph. Ashton was the brother to Lendy Joseph, Gertrude Thomas, Eeulynis James (predeceased), Lucille Brown (of Old Road Antigua), Aurora Ambrose (of Urlings Antigua), and Lorene Christian (of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands).

Shortly after relocating to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Ashton met Joyce Frett (Wilson) with whom he later had had four children with. He is survived by Patricia Frett, Darrell Frett, and Veronica Frett. He was predeceased by his son, the late Ashton Joseph Jr.

After migrating to Massachusetts in the early 60’s, Ashton made the South End his home where he lived a meaningful life. A hardworking and skilled carpenter, Ashton dedicated over 20 years of service at the Quincy Shipping Yard. His craftsmanship and dedication left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working with him.

Ashton was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.

His legacy lives on through his 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever cherish his love, wisdom, and guidance.

Ashton will be remembered for his dedication to his craft, his unwavering love for his family, and the kindness he shared with everyone who knew him.
