Carla Manuela Sousa Lima Goncalves

Carla Manuela Sousa Lima Goncalves, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Brockton, Massachusetts, on January 8, 2026. 

Born on July 28, 1969, in Luanda, Angola, Carla was the cherished daughter of Manuel and Domingas Goncalves. 

Carla spent her working years as a secretary, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and calm presence. Beyond her professional life, her greatest pride and joy were her family.

She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Jorge, Jandira, and Gilson, and a proud grandmother to her nine grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love extended even further to her 17 brothers and sisters, as well as a wide circle of relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness and grace.

Carla’s life was one of quiet service, unwavering love, and deep faith in the bonds of family. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she nurtured, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave so freely. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

A viewing service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the George Lopes Funeral Home, located at 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

Interment will follow at Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
