Charles Jenkins Jr. Obituary

Charlie Ray Jenkins Jr was born to the late Charlie Ray Jenkins and Maudine Taylor on December 7th 1951 in Davisboro Georgia (Washington County). Most of us know him as Charles or Junior (Jr).

Charles was the oldest of 6 children. He is survived by his sister Annie Ruth Jenkins and brother Willie Albert Jenkins both of Boston Ma. He is preceeded in death by his siblings Cynthia Jenkins, Betty Ruth Jenkins and Sheila Jenkins. As well as his grandson Raekwaun Jenkins.

In his early years Charles traveled back and forth between Georgia, Boston and Florida. During his travels he met Rosemary Bryant in Florida and married her August 28th 1970. He called her Rosie and she was his heart. From their union they spent 53 years together raising 6 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters. Eventually settling in Boston Charles (Jr) gained employment with Boston Public Schools for many years. He also worked with other companies such as R&R as well as Ashmont Auto Collision where he met life long friends such as Derek, Mooner, Ben & Barry.

In his free time Jr enjoyed gardening, landscaping, fishing, playing cards, watching Nascar and sports. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He would sit around and talk about his past and childhood years growing up in the south. He was very passionate about teaching life lessons, learning your history and understanding where you came from. Education was very important to Jr therefore, he was very adamant about his children futhering their education. He was determined to get his children back down to Georgia for a visit. He also enjoyed the great debates and cook offs he and Rosie (his wife) had from time to time. He was a great baker and enjoyed baking peach cakes, blackberry Doobie and sweet potatoes pie. He was also infamous for making hooch out of rice and fruit. He loved Rosie and his family. He was a very independent person.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie Ray Jenkins and Maudine Taylor, his sisters Cynthia, Betty Ruth and Sheila Jenkins as well as his grandson Raekwaun (Baldie) Jenkins.
