Cherie Renee Haywood, 37, of Roslindale, MA, passed from this life on December 27, 2021 due to complications related to an ongoing medical condition.

Cherie “ReeRee” a is one half of  twin girls born to Renee D. Croxen and Alfred E. Haywood lll of Boston, MA. She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend.

Cherie grew up in Roslindale, MA. There, she attended school nearby at St. Clares’s and West Roxbury High School.  She continued her undergraduate studies at Pine Manor College in 2002.

Cherie was blessed with a son, Jayden A. Lassiter in 2004. She loved becoming and being a mom. Nothing mattered more. To ensure a better future for her and Jayden, Cherie focused on returning to her studies. She enrolled herself in night courses at Northeastern University and later received her certification to become a Medical Assistant from Bunker Hill Community College. Once she was certified, her career as a Medical Assistant began at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in the Breast Care Department. After providing years of service to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, she accepted a position at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in their Adult Medicine department, where she would work hard, thrive and become a Patient Coordinator.

Cherie’s goal was to one day become a nurse. She had returned to school for Nursing, but unfortunately, with the worsening of her health over time, she’s had to postpone all educational and career pursuits. Inspite of these setbacks, she was working on her degree in Holistic Medicine. She believed and practiced Reiki healing for her own health and well being and encouraged others to do the same.

Cherie loved to spend time with friends and family. To her loved ones, she was one of the most caring, genuine, loving people. She always had an ear to listen and kept everyone connected.  Such a big bright smile and a loud sweet laugh.

Cherie is preceded in death by Agnes Melton, Gloria Haywood, Jerome Lassiter Author Haywood Sr., Woodall Marsh, and William E. Haywood. She is survived by her mother Renee Croxen;father Alfred Haywood; her son Jayden Lassiter; twin sister Chanel Haywood; brothers Adam Haywood and William B. Haywood; nieces Maya Haywood-Hicks and Kayla Green; grandmother Alfrieda Marsh and a host of other family and friends.
