Cheryl Jones

Cheryl Jones was granted her angel wings on October 9, 2020.  Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whose lives she had touched in so many ways throughout her very memorable life.

Cheryl was born on November 16, 1954, in Boston, MA, to Loretta Reid and the late Collins Taylor.

She graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in Boston, MA and continued on to receive certifications in both Dental Assisting and Interior Design. She has blessed many of our homes with her incredible style and ability to make a living space beautiful. Her flare for style was also evident in the way she dressed, no wonder she became a model in her early years making an impression on the runway.  She also touched the lives of many children as an administrator of a group home where she showered vulnerable children with love and affection.

She is survived by her mother, Loretta Reid of Massachusetts; husband, Samuel Jones of Georgia; son, Richard Cummings III of California; step sons, Kyle Jones of Georgia and Warren Jones of New York; grandchildren, Richard Cummings IV of California, Kaitlyn and Sydney Jones of Atlanta and Viviana Jones of New York; sisters, Kim Taylor of Massachusetts, Deborah Atheneos of Tennessee and Maria DeAndrade of Massachusetts; brother, Lamont Taylor of Massachusetts; and other siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Collins Taylor.

Her family will remember her as a passionate, fashionable, loving, and vibrant woman who loved her family, friends and the Lord. Her smile would light up any room that she walked into. Her laughter was infectious.

While Cheryl’s family grieves, they have chosen to remember Cheryl in a way that honors her spirit. Although her life cannot be celebrated in the magnitude that she deserves due to COVID-19, her family would like to invite you to her Celebration of Life next year in 2021. More details to come.
