Damiana Baptista Miranda

Damiana Baptista Miranda, 89, of Boston, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 20, 1936, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, she was the cherished daughter of the late Cesar Miranda and Antonia Baptista.

Damiana devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the beloved wife of Carmilo Goncalves, with whom she shared a life grounded in faith, resilience, and deep devotion. As a dedicated homemaker, Damiana poured her heart into caring for her children and creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love, tradition, and the rich culture of her homeland.

She was the proud and devoted mother of Inacia Goncalves, Paulina Goncalves, Antonia Barbosa, Cabral Goncalves, Filipe Goncalves, and Cesar Goncalves. Her legacy continues through her 12 treasured grandchildren and 5 adored great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Damiana will be remembered for her quiet strength, unwavering faith, generous spirit, and the boundless love she extended to her family and friends. Her life was a testament to sacrifice, compassion, and enduring family values.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday , February 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Parish, 311 Bowdoin Street, Dorchester, MA 02122. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery.

Though she will be deeply missed, Damiana’s love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
