With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Darryl Eugene Lewis Sr., who departed this life on May 18, 2026, in Brockton, Massachusetts.
Born on October 26, 1956, in Boston, Massachusetts, Darryl was the beloved son of the late Edward and Jessie Lewis. Raised with strong values of dedication, compassion, and perseverance, Darryl carried those qualities throughout every chapter of his life.
Darryl proudly served his country in the United States Navy from March 30, 1979, to March 29, 1983. His years of military service reflected his sense of duty, honor, and commitment to others. Following his service, he dedicated many hardworking years to Bank of America, where he was respected for his reliability, professionalism, and warm spirit.
Above all else, Darryl was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Cynthia Lewis, and his beloved son, Darryl Eugene Lewis Jr., along with a host of loving family members, extended relatives, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory and the love he shared so freely.
Darryl will be remembered for his strength, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Viewing Services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at George Lopes Funeral Home, 821 Cummins Highway, Mattapan, MA 02126. Funeral services will immediately follow from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Interment will take place thereafter at Mount Hope Cemetery, 355 Walk Hill Street, Boston, MA, where military honors will be rendered in recognition of Darryl’s honorable service to his country.
Though he may be gone from our sight, Darryl’s love, legacy, and memory will remain with us always.
