David Jenkins passed on March 30, 2021 in Boston, Massachusetts
Born on September 28, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina to Jacob Jenkins and Fannie (Rivers) Jenkins. Both of his parents, and his brother, Leroy, preceded him in death.
David attended the Reesville Memorial Public School in St. George, South Carolina. As a teenager, he wanted to find adventure and so, moved to Texas. There he made a connection with the Job Corps.
David learned the welding trade in the Job Corps eventually in Colorado; he was very good at his trade. He had several talents in addition to welding; He played the bass guitar (in a band), and he is the author of several books.
He later moved back to Texas for work, married, and had two children from the union.
Later in life, he married Evangelist Carrie Pearson. He joined her at Southern Baptist Church in Boston, where he became a Walking Deacon. The two of them served the church with a joyful spirit. Over the years, Deacon Jenkins worked for Boston Cab, Lyft, and Uber.
David loved his family dearly. He was called home to rest, he is survived by his wife, Evangelist Carrie Pearson, four children, Monique Nixon, Ronald B Jenkins, Tyrone, and Daniel all of Texas. His surviving siblings are: Louis Jenkins, Edward Jenkins, Ronald Young, William Young, and Cynthia Dinglo.
