Dazieren Cooper was born on May 20, 1932 to the late Ned Cooper and Missouri Harty Safford in Selma, Alabama. She was the last surviving member of her family.
After helping her mother with the care of younger siblings, Dazieren moved to Boston in 1955. With little education and many skills, she worked a variety of jobs. She was active in family life as many of her brothers and sisters had moved to Boston with their families.
She enjoyed babysitting for others, sewing, cooking, gardening, traveling and participating in her children’s activities. Dazieren was a caring and loyal woman who helped her family whenever she could. Her family has good memories of her.
On Wednesday, July 7, 2021 Dazieren, surrounded by her family, passed peacefully after a long illness.
She leaves to mourn her children Geraldine Burton, Annie, Nathan (Jacqueline), Joseph Sr. (Rose), Christa Cooper-Haywood (Ricky), Sherrice Cooper-Thornton (Troy), and Samuel J. Taylor.
Grandchildren Shawan and Antwan Burton, Jamal Cooper, Ebony Clowney, Eugene Clowney, Carl and Marissa Cooper, Latoya, Joseph Jr, Isiah and Hakeem Cooper, Joshua Cooper, Trayquawn and Terohn Thornton. She has 27 great grandchildren and several great, great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her sisters Angie Davis, Beatrice Hunter, Lula Mae King, Fannie Mae Rhodes, Shever Cooper, and brothers Artis, Frank, Booker T., Percy, John, William, James and Jessie Cooper.
