Domingas Cruz Sena

Domingas Cruz Sena was born on Saturday November 8, 1924. Domingas was born in the town of Minhoto on the island of Brava in Cape Verde. She was the only child born of her parents Joao de Cruz Theodora and Leopoldina Pereira Costa. She married her one and only love, Joao Lopes de Sena. They had 5 beloved children together, affectionately known as DjeDje, Toi, Pui, Thelma, and Gigi. In 1978, After spending half of her life in her beloved country, she set on her journey to the United States to continue her legacy. She moved into the city of Dorchester on the notorious Fuller street. By selling Portuguese Gold she excelled as a vendor and her reputation of kindness and popularity preceded her, earning her long-lasting friendships that still endure to this day.  She later moved-in with her youngest daughter Gigi in Brockton on Waverly St. and finally made her way to West Warwick, RI. She frequently returned to her original home in Brava, Cabo Verde. Domingas ascended to her final resting place on Monday April 12, 2021 surrounded by family members immersed in love and prayers. She is survived by 4 children, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
