After graduating and starting a family of her own, Ebony began working for Inspectional Services in her hometown of Boston. Driven and hardworking, she later returned to school to perfect her passion for hair, earning her cosmetology license. After spending nearly 40 years in Massachusetts, Ebony decided it was time for a fresh start and relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she spent the final eight years of her life.
Ebony passed away on December 23, 2025, alongside her beloved mother, Lorraine Williams, and her cherished granddaughter, Shaziyah Lesley. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Brown, and her grandmother, Shirley Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory her younger brother, Toney Hawkins.; her three children, Tanejah Williams, Sharod Lesley Jr., and Zariyah Williams-Stone; her nephew, Toney Hawkins Jr; as well as a host of family members, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Ebony will be remembered for her proud and stubborn nature, her kind heart, and her deeply loving spirit. She was filled with so much love that she could not help but give it away. Ebony welcomed everyone with open arms and had a special way of making people feel at home. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished them dearly.
She will forever be remembered and cherished for her big heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for her family. Ebony didn’t fear much, except God and being away from her children. Now she’s home with the Lord, where she can keep her eyes on all of us at the same time.
