Ernest Bishop Obituary

Ernest “Ernie” Spencer Bishop was born on November 12,1945 in Boston Massachusetts to the late Grace Gibson-Bishop and George Bishop.

Ernie was the youngest of eight siblings. Erine attended Boston Public School System and Graduated from Charlestown High.

When in high school he developed an interest in electronics where his career flourished. Shortly after graduating, he married and started a family. During that time, he enlisted into the Navy where he served one tour in Vietnam. Upon discharge from the Navy, he became a teacher and taught at OIC (Opportunity Industrialization Center).

Ernie loved his community and Roxbury loved him. He held numerous titles such as The Mayor of Washington Park, Pretty Black Diamond, Spence, Bishop and to the family Unc/Uncski.

You could always find Unc singing a tune and playing card like Spades, Poker or Coon can with his nephew Cecil. As well as sharing knowledge and tutoring his nieces and nephews

Erine leaves to cherish his memory of his special friend Christine Smith. His Brother George Bishop (Derral) of Boston Massachusetts. One sister-in-law Leslie Bishop of Atlanta Georgia. Three wonderful children Rhonda Bishop, Joy Hansbury -Jennings, And Ernest Bishop Jr. Preceded him in death his siblings Grace “Sister G” Jordan, Vera King, Linwood Bishop, Winifred “Winnie” Smith, Gladys Barnes, Fredia “Mae” Coleman and Stanley Washington, and a host of Loving relatives and friends.
