Filipe Jose Marcelino

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Filipe Jose Marcelino, who departed this life on February 18, 2026, in Brockton, Massachusetts, at the remarkable age of 98.

Filipe was born on September 10, 1927, on the island of Fogo, Cabo Verde, to the late Antonio Jose Marcelino and Gorda Marcelino. Raised with strong values of faith, hard work, and devotion to family, Filipe carried these principles with him throughout his long and meaningful life.

A dedicated farmer in the agricultural industry, Filipe spent his working days cultivating the land with patience and care. Through honest labor and unwavering determination, he provided for his family and built a legacy grounded in love and resilience.

Filipe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Ribeiro Marcelino, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, devotion, and cherished memories. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves behind a beautiful and extensive legacy through his loving children: Gordinha, Rosalida, Mimizinha, Rosa, Joao, Jose, Antonio, Maria, Eunice, Pedro, Arthur, Joaozinho and Fatinha. His family tree flourished under his guidance and love, extending to 53 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He also leaves a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss his wisdom, quiet strength, and gentle presence.

Filipe’s life was a testament to devotion to his faith, to his family, and to the values he carried from his homeland. His memory will live on in the stories shared around family tables, in the traditions he passed down, and in the generations who carry his name and spirit forward.
