It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Francisco Da Veiga, who departed this life peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 97.
Born on April 1, 1929, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, Francisco was the beloved son of his loving parents and carried with him throughout his life the values of hard work, humility, faith, and devotion to family.
A proud and dedicated farmer in the agriculture industry, Francisco spent his final working years doing what he knew best — working the land with strength, dignity, and care. His tireless work ethic and quiet wisdom left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Francisco was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy came from the family he cherished so deeply.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Catarina Mendes Alves JR., along with a host of loving children, grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory, guidance, and unconditional love.
Francisco will be remembered for his gentle spirit, enduring strength, and the kindness he extended to everyone around him. Though his presence will be greatly missed, his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his long and meaningful life.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at George Lopes Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Edith Stein Parish.
Interment will follow at Melrose Cemetery.
May he rest in eternal peace.
