Gary Shawn Woods, 54, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 20, 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts, Gary was the beloved son of Patricia Woods and Thomas Woods. He grew up alongside his two siblings, Tara Woods and Dana Woods, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime.
Gary attended Dorchester High School, where he played football and developed a strong sense of teamwork and dedication. He carried that same work ethic into his career, working for various companies throughout his life. Known for his quiet nature, Gary was a hardworking man who found joy in the simple things—cooking delicious meals, fixing cars, and caring for his plants and animals.
Despite his quiet demeanor, Gary’s love for his family was undeniable. He was a loving father to his eight children: Tifani Gay of Waterbury, Connecticut; Gary Woods Jr., Robert Woods, Sh’taree Holmes, Leilani Washington, Logan Washington, and Leiland Washington, all of Boston, Massachusetts. He was also a proud grandfather to his grandson, Elijah Woods.
Music was a constant presence in Gary’s life, providing him with joy and comfort. His love for animals and plants reflected his gentle and nurturing spirit. Though he didn’t always express his emotions with words, his actions spoke volumes—whether it was lending a helping hand, sharing a home-cooked meal, or simply being there for those he loved.
He is survived by his parents, children, grandson, siblings, and a host of nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
