July 15, 1963 ~ November 26, 2023 (age 60) 60 Years Old
Gayshawn “Gay” Hayden was born on July 15, 1963, in Boston, Massachusetts to Gaylord Patrick Hayden of Gary, Indiana, and Ruth Thelma Hayden of Graysville, Alabama. She was the second of three girls.
She attended Boston High in Fenway and continued her education at Fisher College. Gay was a dedicated employee of Harvard Vanguard, now Atrius Health, for thirty-five years.
Gay was the peacemaker of the family. She had the biggest heart. She raised all of our children and dedicated her life to them to ensure they wanted for nothing.
Gay had many hobbies: she loved her movies and music collections dearly, Charlie Wilson being her favorite. Let’s not forget all of her Avon customers. She also liked to cook, especially when we came together as a family and cooked for the holidays.
Gay was diagnosed with CLL, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, in 2004. Her journey was long and arduous but she always persevered for herself, her family, and her friends. She is our she-hero because she never wanted us to worry about her. We lost her on November 26, 2023, at 3:07 AM.
She is survived by her two sisters, Celeste Hayden and Patricia Yvette Hayden, her niece children, Tonye Monee Hayden Berry, Ashley Berry, Kamiya Patrice Hayden-White, Mikal Brihany Hayden-Gates and Jalyn Christina Hayden-Herd, her nephew, and only boy of the family, Shakur Hayden Jacques. Additionally, she is survived by our family friends Carla Sims, Lisa Sims, Glenda Sims, Tonya Sims, Shaun Sims, Tina Christian and Robin Christian, her god sister, Atrisha Williams, and a host of cousins and close friends.
