In Loving Memory of George Earl Hood Jr.
George Earl Hood Jr., of Columbia, South Carolina, was born on July 31, 1963, in Boston, Massachusetts, to George Earl Hood Sr. and Hilda Lee Smith-Hood. He was the second child and oldest son of three children. On August 24, 2026, at the age of 63, George peacefully departed this life to be with his God.
George was affectionately known as “Junior” to his family, “Daddy” to his children, and “George” to his friends.
George had a warm personality and a presence that made him memorable to everyone he met. He never met a stranger because he could strike up a conversation with anyone. His smile was contagious, and his polite and pleasant nature had a way of bringing out kindness in those around him.
George Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, George and Hilda Hood; his brother, Shawn (Kimberly) Hood; his surviving children; 27 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nieces; one nephew; aunts; uncles; and a host of loving cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
George Jr.’s memory will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Junior may be gone from our sight, but the love he gave, the memories he created, and the family he cherished will remain in our hearts forever.
Rest peacefully, Junior. You were deeply loved, and you will forever be remembered.
