Gerardo Rosario Gonzalez

Gerardo Rosario Gonzalez, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2026.

Born on March 11, 1944, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Gerardo was the cherished son of the late Gervasio Rosario and Ester Gonzalez.

From an early age, he learned the values of hard work, integrity, and devotion to family, principles that guided him throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Rosario, whose love remained in his heart always, and by two treasured grandchildren who were taken far too soon.

Gerardo leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Javier Jose Rosario, Lillian Kearnes, Brenda Rosario, Joan Colon, Gerardo Rosario, Janet Medeiros, Kenneth Rosario, Araceli Rosario, and Jocelyn Rosario. He was a proud grandfather to 27 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren who brought him endless joy and laughter. He is also survived by six brothers and sisters, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him profoundly.

Gerardo will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom. He was a devoted family man who found his greatest happiness surrounded by loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and unwavering support. His presence was a source of comfort and guidance, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Viewing hours will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

A funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., after which interment will take place at Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

A repass will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hibachi Supreme Buffet, 718 Crescent Street, Brockton, MA.

Gerardo Rosario Gonzalez will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the love he gave, the life he lived, and the legacy he leaves behind.
