Gerty Marie O'Neell

Gerty M. O’Neell, age 63, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Boston, MA.

Born on September 4, 1962, in Port-au-Prince, Gerty was the beloved daughter of Richard O’Neell and the late AnnMarie O’Neell. Gerty was a woman known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to caring for others. Throughout her working life, she served as a caretaker in adult health, a role that reflected her deeply nurturing spirit. She devoted countless hours to
ensuring the comfort and well-being of those in her care, leaving a lasting impression on many lives.

Family was the center of Gerty’s world. She carried with her the values of love, resilience, and generosity that she shared with those around her. Her warm presence, gentle heart, and quiet strength will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gerty was preceded in death by her mother, AnnMarie O’Neell. She leaves behind her loving father, Richard O’Neell; her cherished sons, JeanYves Joseph Jr. and Kevin Joseph; and many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by her kindness.

A memorial service celebrating Gerty’s life will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, starting at 10:00AM at Brockton Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 235 Court Street, Brockton 02302.

Gerty’s legacy of compassion and love will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. She will be remembered always and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
