With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jalen Jose Tavares, who departed this life on Monday, June 22, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 19.
Born on August 21, 2006, in Boston, Massachusetts, Jalen was the beloved son of Reneto Tavares and Cheri Fernandes, who cherished him beyond measure.
Jalen was a proud high school graduate who dedicated himself to caring for others through his work as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in the healthcare industry. His compassionate spirit, kind heart, and willingness to help those in need reflected the remarkable young man he was.
Jalen brought joy and laughter to those around him with his warm smile, gentle nature, and unwavering love for his family. He treasured the time spent with those closest to him and created lasting memories that will forever be held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his devoted parents, Jalen leaves behind his beloved siblings, Aiden, Rashi, Gio, Reneis, and Raylenn, who will forever cherish the bond they shared. He is also lovingly survived by his grandparents, Jose and Ana Fernandes, and Jose Tavares and Valantina Miranda. Jalen's memory will continue to live on through his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom will miss him deeply.
Though his time on earth was far too brief, the love Jalen gave and the lives he touched will remain an everlasting testament to the beautiful person he was. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to love deeply, care selflessly, and cherish every moment with family and friends.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to pay their respects during visiting hours on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, Massachusetts.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Jalen's life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main Street, Brockton, Massachusetts.
Jalen will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed. May he rest in eternal peace.
