João Filipe DeAndrade Monteiro, 52, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was born on June 13, 1973, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, to the late Alferdo Jose Monteiro and Adriana DeAndrade, who survives him.
João carried with him the warmth, strength, and resilience of his Cabo Verdean roots throughout his life. He was known for his quiet dedication, kind heart, and strong work ethic. For many years, he worked faithfully at Crown Linen Service, where he was a dependable and hardworking presence, respected by those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Above all, João will be remembered as a loving son, a loyal friend, and a man who valued family, humility, and perseverance. His presence brought comfort and familiarity to those around him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Friday, January 9, 2026, at George Lopes Funeral Home, located at 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
With Viewing hours from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Following the service, interment will take place at Melrose Cemetery, located at 88 N. Pearl Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
