With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jose Manuel Martins Tavares, who departed this life peacefully at home on November 24, 2025, in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Jose Manuel was born on December 27, 1956, in Praia, Cabo Verde, to his loving parents, Carlos and Palmira Tavares. Though life brought him many places, his roots in Cabo Verde remained a source of pride, strength, and identity throughout his lifetime.

Jose Manuel leaves behind his beloved wife, Julia Almeida Lopes, who stood faithfully by his side through every joy and challenge. He is also survived by his cherished children, who will forever carry his values, his resilience, and his love in their hearts. In addition, he leaves a large circle of family and friends, each of whom was touched by his kindness, his gentle presence, and his steady, unwavering love.

His passing leaves a profound emptiness in the lives of all who knew him, yet his memory will forever remain a blessing. Stories of his laughter, his generosity, and his warmth will continue to echo within his family and community.

Jose Manuel will be laid to rest in his homeland of Praia, Cabo Verde, returning to the place where his story began. Though he has left this world, his spirit returns home carried across the ocean by the love of all who mourn him.
