Joseph E. Mallory ‘Joe’ was born on April 29th, 1942, In Jefferson County, Birmingham Alabama to the late Sarah E. Pettis & Eddie Mallory. Joe was later raised by his mother and stepfather Charles Chappell in Ohio, where he attended Taylor high school.
Joseph joined the CB club where he was given the nickname ’Poboy’ which stuck with him throughout his life. In 1965, Joseph married his high school sweetheart Dorothy J. Mallory, they share 1 child. In 1971 Joseph relocated to Boston, MA where he remained until his last day. During those years, Joseph met his longtime love Eunice Williams, they had 3 children.
Joseph was a dedicated family man & worked various jobs. The standard linen company, Gillette, Basf Corp. & Peter Pan Inc. Joseph showed great work ethic throughout his career. Later in life, Joseph dedicated his time to helping his close friends in need, he was a Freemason and known for his sense of humor, love of sweets & different hats he liked to wear.
Joseph Mallory was also a member of Southern Baptist Church; he believed in the lord kept his spirits high and faith strong until his last breath.
Joseph is proceeded in death by his son Travis Williams, grandson Jaden Williams, brothers Alfonso, Kary & Keith Chappell, sisters Candice Chappell & Patsy Sidsney.
Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory Daughter Tonia Rodriguez (Robert), MA, Sons Jerry Pettway, Joseph Pettway, OH, Joel Williams, OH, Fabian Williams, MA Sister Daisy King, MA, Doris Bailey, OH, Alice Jackson (Bobby), OH, Brother Charles Chappell Jr. (Brenda), OH, Sister MaryAnn Caldwell (Larry), OH, Sister Denise Jones (Daryl), OH, grandchildren Terrell, Mallory, Tommy King Jr., Shaquana King, Jhakira Weathers, Keomi Smith, Shamar, Walton, Talia, Tia, Jace Williams & Ethan Roupe. Nine Great Grandchildren: Nevaeha, Le’Shawn, Londyn, Tommy, Jonah, Corey Jr., Marley, Emory & Mya, & a host of nieces, nephews & great nieces & nephews.
