Solomon Kwaku Asare was born on November 5, 1975, at the Cape Coast University Hospital in Ghana, West Africa.
He died on May 13, 2025, at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Boston after suffering an unexpected cardiac arrest.
Since 2011, he has divided his time between Accra, Ghana at Latebiokoshie and Attleboro, Massachusetts, USA. Solomon graduated from Milton Academy and received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and History from Boston University. He is the author of four books The Grooming of An African Monarch (2014), The Redemption of Africa (2016), Theories on African Development (2021) and My Views on Africa and the World (2023).
Solomon lived a life of deep kindness, persistent joy, brilliant thinking, global engagement and fierce self-definition. A staunch Pan-Africanist, he was always ready to engage in dialogue about African development, diaspora, and cosmology. He brought his customary good humor, clever turns of phrase, and compassionate heart to all conversations– whether political and personal.
Solomon was a beloved son to Dorothy Ofobi Adomako and Seth Asare (deceased), a steadfast big brother to Ohene (Milton, MA) Abena (Brookhaven, NY), and Amma (Houston, TX), a welcoming brother-in-law to Régine Jean-Charles, Kerim Odekon, and Amir Jaima, and a joyful and engaged uncle to Bediako Dessalines, Kwaku Toussaint, Farah-Adwoa Heureuse, Afia Anacaona, Nazim Kwame, Kofi Ziya, Manu Abudu and Somanya Beatrice. Along with his mother, siblings, nieces and nephews, he leaves behind beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles in Ghana and the United States, and friends all over the world. He will be deeply missed.
