Lavonne R. Davis was born on October 7, 1959, in Elkton, Maryland, to Elbert Davis and Grace Gale. She was the eldest of four siblings. Lavonne passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024. Her family moved to Boston when she was very young, where she received her education in the Boston public schools. Lavonne lived in Dorchester for several years before relocating her family to Marblehead, MA to provide a better life and neighborhood for them.
Lavonne was a devoted mother to three children: Tameka, Thomas, and Tanshia Davis. She worked as a dental assistant at The Paradise Dental for over twenty years until she fell ill and had to stop working. Lavonne enjoyed listening to music, dancing, traveling, cooking, and cherishing time with family and friends. Known for her green thumb, she had a special talent for nurturing plants. Lavonne also had a keen sense of style, always impeccably dressed and well-groomed.
Lavonne leaves behind her beloved children, four grandchildren: Tasia, Tah’Jeona Williams, Jaeson Elysse, and Ja’niyah; and one great-grandson, Ray’Von Price. Her mother, Grace Lanier; siblings Tina Davis and her husband Garry Davis of Atlanta, GA, Christine Davis, Tyrone Gale, and Zyrek Lanier of Mattapan, MA; nieces LaToya Davis of Las Vegas, NV, and Tyrika Hendricks of Mattapan, MA; and nephew Donte Hendricks of Maine. Lavonne joins in eternal rest her father Elbert Davis, stepfather John Lanier, aunts Margaret Curry, AnnMae Hill, Clara Gale, and Vickie Davis, and uncles William Gale and Preston Gale, along with many cousins and friends.
