Leola S. McGowan was born on December 23, 1932, to Reather Lee Howze in Shubuta, Mississippi.

Leola is predeceased by her mother and her daughter Joanne Samuel.

Leola leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Tessie McGowan Wooten, Patrick McGowan, Iris McGowan, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
