Lianes Gomes Brandao, age 28, of Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2026.
Born on April 21, 1997, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, Lianes was the beloved son of Licinio C. Brandao and the late Maria Anete Gomes Depina. He grew up surrounded by a large and loving family who remained at the center of his life.
Lianes was known for his warm heart, joyful spirit, and the ability to make everyone around him laugh. A proud son, devoted brother, and loyal friend, he was deeply family-oriented and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His humor and lighthearted personality brought smiles to many and left lasting memories for all who knew him.
He worked as a forklift driver at a warehouse, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Lianes enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially playing soccer and spending time with friends playing the card game known as “biska.” Whether on the field or gathered around a table of cards, he brought energy, laughter, and camaraderie wherever he went. Lianes was a great friend, a natural comedian, and someone who truly loved to have fun.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Maria Anete Gomes Depina.
Lianes leaves behind his loving father, Licinio C. Brandao; his cherished siblings, Neusa, Leandro, Ledy, and Lisandro; along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly and forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to attend viewing hours on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, March 23, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
Interment will follow at Melrose Cemetery.
Lianes will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for his laughter, kindness, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
