It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd George Bovell, who entered eternal rest on November 5, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on September 13, 1940, in St. Andrew, Barbados, Lloyd was the beloved son of the late Overton “Honey” Watson and Cynthia Bovell. He was a proud Bajan who began his working life as a laborer and ranger in his hometown of St. Andrew, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for hard work, community, and the beauty of the outdoors.
In 1964, Lloyd married the love of his life, Keziah Springer, on September 6, beginning a devoted marriage that lasted 56 wonderful years until her passing. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith.
In 1981, Lloyd immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts, where he continued his dedication to honest work through his years of service with a local cleaning company, earning respect for his reliability, integrity, and strong work ethic.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife Keziah Bovell, his son Elvis Bovell, his daughter Wavne Bovell, and his brothers Frank Bovell and Bertham Lowe.
He is lovingly remembered by his children Randall Bovell, Edwina Bovell, Matthew Bovell, and Dave Bovell and his wife Vianise; his brothers Whitfield Bovell and Eucilde Watson; his cherished grandchildren Cameron Mack, Kylie Bovell, Grayson Bovell, Andrea Bovell, and Noelle Bovell; his niece Vanessa Yorke; and a host of other siblings, extended family, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
A loyal fan of the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots, Lloyd enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams and sharing game days with family. More than anything, he loved spending time with his loved ones, telling stories, and celebrating life’s simple joys.
A memorial service to honor Lloyd’s life will be held at George Lopez Funeral Home on November 21, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.
Lloyd’s warmth, humor, and strength of spirit will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
