The beloved Lurlene May McBeam of Mattapan, Massachusetts, passed peacefully on April 8, 2021.
Lurlene May McBeam Nee Walker was born May 30, 1937 to the late Bethuel Matilda Peart nee Sutherland and Ronald Walker in Fellowship Hall, St. Mary Jamaica.
She attended Ramble Elementary School and later went to trade school where she acquired a number of skills including Dress Making, Machine Embroidery, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts and was also a Certified Nursing Assistant.
She got married to Lenville McBeam on June 2nd 1971 who predeceased her. They were blessed with three children Norene, Kenloy and Sherrol their adopted daughter.
She was a visionary; a successful businesswoman and a diligent worker. She excelled at whatever task she was given.
She was a loving mother to so many. Lurlene loves the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and serves Him faithfully without wavering; an inspiration indeed. She was a generous, loving and supportive person whether it be at home, at work, at church or in the community. She would go above and beyond to ensure everyone felt love and comfort in her presence.
She peacefully transitioned home to our Lord Jesus Christ on April 8th 2021 and is now securely in the arms of her loving Lord. Two sister Ivy Hewitt, Loretta Cameron and Lee Walker her brother and parents.
Farewell, to our caring, inspirational MATRIARCH, Lurlene May Walker McBeam who was indeed God’s chosen vessel; the epitome of strength and courage. She will be deeply missed by her family, church and friends.
She leaves behind:
4 Sisters, Isabella Ward, Delrose Mcdonald, Alpha Sims and Jennifer Sammuel.
3 children - Norene Richmond-Weir, Kenloy McTaggart and Sharrol Young.
2 Sons in law Jacob Weir and Glen Young. Daughter in Law Yvette McTaggart
9 Grandchildren, Jamie, Dwayne, Sasha-Gaye, Kenton, Norene, Kenge, Jerome, Shanelle, Kenisha .
10 Great Grandchildren, Zoe, Jabarie, Jahleel, Jahnel, Jaida, Khloe, Jaire, Mason, Jahsai, and Kazuri .
A number of nephews and nieces, cousins, a loving warm Pastor, church family and friends.
We all mourn her passing. We thank God for her life and for that blessed hope that we will see her again in glory
May her sweet soul Rest in Peace and Light perpetually shine upon her.
