Margaret Virginia Nock, lovingly known as “Nana,” was born on November 1, 1934, to the parentage of Willie Sarah Vinnie and James Moore in Exmore, Virginia. She was educated in the public schools of Virginia and graduated from Marian Smith High School.
Margaret had six children: Melvin Nock Jr., Sarah Crawford, Margaret Horton, Richard Nock, Ann Marie Nock, and Troy Nock. She and her family relocated to Boston, MA, where she was employed at Fernald State School.

Her mantra was, "No matter what, family is all you've got." She was always welcoming and had an open-door policy for everyone, creating a warm and inclusive environment for all.
Margaret was a dedicated member of Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop John M. Borders, III. She remained active in the fellowship until her health would no longer permit.
