Maria Celeste Depina

Maria Celeste Depina, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, in Brockton, Massachusetts, at the age of 68.

Maria was born on October 2, 1957, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, to the late Alidio Depina and Joana Dias. She was a devoted and loving mother to her sons, Adilson and Jailson Depina. Her greatest joy in life was caring for and nurturing her children and creating a loving home for her family.

Maria’s life was centered around the people she loved. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother and took great pride in her three grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her caring nature, and the countless ways she brought comfort and joy to those around her.

Maria leaves behind to cherish her memory her two children, Adilson and Jailson Depina; her three grandchildren; five siblings; and a host of loving relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM at, St. Edith Stein Parish,71 E. Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

Following the Mass, Maria will be laid to rest at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Though she is no longer with us, Maria’s love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, siblings, family, and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
