Maria Eugenia Monteiro

Maria Eugenia Monteiro was born on Nov 16th 1943. She was raised by Eduino Dudu Monteiro and Milica Nica Pina in Sao Jorge, Cabo Verde and lived there until she made her journey to America in her early 20’s. Maria passed away peacefully on March 29th 2021 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Maria settled in Boston where she worked for a short period of time then spent her days as a homemaker. Maria loved to shop, travel and spend time with her family and friends and those that knew her best knew what her favorite past time was. 

Maria's family meant the world to her. She was close with her sisters Linda, Odete and Lucilia whom she spoke on the phone with multiple times a day.

Many were lucky to have had Maria as a part of their lives. She was loved by all, young and old. She can walk in a room and brighten it up with her presence alone.

Maria leaves behind her husband Pedro S. Monteiro, her children Pedro S. Monteiro, Jr., Dulce Eugenia Monteiro and Stephanie S. Monteiro. Her 8 grandchildren Aaron, Markiah, Destanie, Issiah, Madesyn, Lazarus, Luanie and Pedro “JJ” along with 3 great grandchildren Ayden, Winnter and Jace.  Maria also leaves behind plenty of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Maria will be met at the heavenly gates by her first born son Mark E Monteiro.
