Maria L. Goncalves was born on May 21, 1944, in Fogo, Cabo Verde to the late Clarimundo Goncalves and Maria Goncalves.

Maria L. Goncalves leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Maria J. Carvalho, Louis Goncalves, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
