Maria M. Rodrigues, lovingly known to many as Maria “Lena” Gomes, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Brockton, Massachusetts. Born on September 11, 1965, in Praia, Cabo Verde, she was the cherished daughter of the late Americo Gomes and Edita Barbosa Gomes.

Maria’s life was marked by her deep love for family, her generous spirit, and her unwavering faith. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Christina Silva, and a proud grandmother to her beloved grandchild. She is also survived by her four siblings, who will forever hold her memory close, along with a large circle of relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, warmth, and joyful presence.

Maria’s legacy lives on in the countless moments of love, laughter, and encouragement she shared with those around her. Her strength, compassion, and resilience will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

Funeral services celebrating Maria’s life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Nova Alianca Church of Nazarene, located at 38 Mystic Street, Brockton, MA 02302. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a service honoring her memory.

Maria “Lena” Gomes will be forever treasured in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
