It is with profound sadness and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Marina Pires Gomes (96) of Boston, Massachusetts, who peacefully departed this life on July 26, 2026.
Marina Gomes was born on May 10, 1930, in Fogo, Cape Verde, to the late Maria Da Luz Pires. She was raised with strong values of faith, resilience, humility, and love for family qualities that remained the foundation of her life and were evident to all who knew her.
Marina devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a loving and nurturing home where her family always found comfort, guidance, and unconditional love. She took great pride in caring for her family and ensuring that those around her were always supported and cared for.
A woman of remarkable strength, grace, and compassion, Marina dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. She found her greatest joy in the company of her family, and her gentle spirit, warm heart, and enduring wisdom will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to have known her.
Marina’s legacy of love, faith, and family shines brightly through the generations she blessed. She is survived by her four loving children, Alberto "Beto" Gomes, Teodora "Doia" Gomes, Domingos "Guenny" Pires, and Maria Gomes. She is reunited in eternal peace with her four predeceased children, Joaquim Gomes, Joao Pires Gomes, Teodor Gomes, and Eucluedes Pires Barbosa.
Her life's devotion lives on through her 31 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by one beloved grandchild and one precious great-grandchild. She leaves behind a host of relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life beautifully lived. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory forever remain a blessing in the hearts of all who loved her
