Obituary

It is with great sadness that the Amado family announces the passing of Mário César Souto Amado on November 27, 2022, at the age of 59. After a long battle with cancer, Mário passed away surrounded by his loved ones.

Mário was born on November 25, 1963, in Praia, Cabo Verde. Mário worked as a full-time architect in S. Filipe-Fogo and in his free time he was a singer in the band “Abel Djassi”. In 1991, Mário immigrated to the United States to join his family in search of the American Dream. Mário worked at Morabeza Club as a bartender and singer. Soon to be nicknamed Ildo Lobo for the great resemblance to the artist’s melodic voice. Aside from his passion for singing, his beloved Benfica was true to his heart.

Mário left behind his esteemed companion, Ana Clara Brito “Calina”, cherished son, Edson Jorge Gonçalves Souto Amado and granddaughter, Reinny Ivana Vieira Amado, his beloved mother, Ernestina Souto Amado, and loving siblings, Maria Amália Veiga, José António Cardoso, Vera Vicente, Maria Teresa Barbosa Amado, Jacinto João Souto Amado, Carlos Alberto Amado, and Viriato Natanael Souto Amado.

On December 4th, 2022, at Nova Aliança Church of Nazarene (38 Mystic Street, Brockton MA 02302) Viewing Services will be from 4pm to 6pm and Memorial Service from 6pm to 8pm.

É com profundo pesar que comunicamos o falecimento de Mário César Souto Amado no passado dia 27 de Novembro de 2022. Depois de uma longa batalha contra câncer, Mário faleceu aos 59 anos de idade cercado dos seus familiares e entes queridos.

Mário nasceu no dia 25 de Novembro de 1963 na cidade da Praia, Cabo Verde. Mário trabalhou como arquiteto na cidade de São Filipe-Fogo e no seu tempo livre era cantor na banda musical Abel Djassi. Em 1991, Mário imigrou para os Estados Unidos para se reunir à família em busca do sonho americano. Mário trabalhou na Morabeza Club como bartender e cantor, ganhando o apelido de Ildo Lobo pela semelhança à voz do artista. Para além da paixão à música, o seu grande e verdadeiro amor era o Clube de Futebol Sport Lisboa Benfica.

Filho, Pai, Avô, Irmão Mário é sobrevivido por sua companheira Ana Clara Brito conhecida como Calina, querido filho Edson Jorge Gonçalves Souto Amado, estimada neta Reinny Ivana Vieira Amado, amada mãe Ernestina Souto Amado, e irmãos Maria Amália Veiga, José António Cardoso, Vera Vicente, Maria Teresa Barbosa Amado, Jacinto João Souto Amado, Carlos Alberto Amado e Viriato Natanael Souto Amado.

A cerimónia fúnebre será no dia 4 de Dezembro de 2022 na Igreja do Nazareno Nova Aliança (38 Mystic Street, Brockton MA 02302):

O Velório será das 4:00 às 6:00 da tarde, seguido pela cerimónia fúnebre das 6:00 às 8:00 da tarde
