With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of our beloved Martina Gonsalves, who departed this life on September 13, 2025, in Brockton, Massachusetts, just days before her 75th birthday.
Martina was born on September 16, 1950, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, to the late Fortunato Santos and Ana Barbosa.
She was the devoted wife of the late Humberto Gonsalves, and together they built a loving and nurturing home rooted in faith, tradition and unconditional love.
Martina was an industrious woman who even after retiring in her later years, continued to support her family by lovingly caring for and babysitting all her grandchildren, as well as some nieces and nephews.
She was a dedicated homemaker, spending her days caring for her family with grace, patience and strength. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort and endless love, where meals were shared, stories were passed down and everyone felt welcome. Her nurturing spirit, quiet wisdom, and deep love will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her cherished children: Ana Avelino, Sal Gonsalves, Joey Gonsalves, Juana Pina, and Jermanie Gonsalves; her 14 beloved grandchildren, 13 precious great-grandchildren, many siblings and a large circle of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
